3 months out for Pouton

All action midfielder Pouton pulled up with the knee injury just 20 minutes into the pre-season game with Lincoln City in July. Initial fears of a three month lay-off were confirmed after the operation.

Manager Paul Groves talked about the need to sign Pouton on a longer term contract and handed him the vice captaincy after occasions leading the side last season.

With the likes of Des Hamilton and Stuart Campbell starting the season as first choice midfielders, Stacy Coldicott soon back in training and Chris Bolder pushing for first team football - Pouton won't find it straightforward to regain his first team place.

Meanwhile captain John McDermott took part in a behind closed doors friendly again Doncaster yesterday and could well feature in the squad for the weekends trip to Luton. Town lost the game 2-1.
