In an interview with the Guardian, Barnard told of his disbelief at the lack of interest from clubs in general whilst also pointing out his international status.

"I am a current Welsh international but struggling to find a club, which I just can't understand," he said. "If Mark Hughes picks you to play for Wales then you must be doing something right.

"Every time the phone rings you are hoping it is your agent saying that a club has come in for you," he confessed. "It's a nightmare position, not just for me but for the hundreds of other players who are in the same position."

Barnard can't understand it. Hmmm, neither can I.....honest.

Also featured in the article was Terry Cooke who is now facing his third consecutive summer searching for a new club.
