Digger:Deserves his chance now!
The site staff at Grimsby Town MAD believe it is time for Russell Slade to give a starting chance to striker David Soames. Soames has had his fair share of first team football, but he only averages around 10 sub apperances a season.

Soames made his debut in the 2-0 away defeat against Crystal Palace in the 2002/2003 season. Digger has only started one match for the first team in competitive competition, he started in the 2-2 home draw with Burnley in the FA Cup, also in 02/03 season.

Digger scored against Derby County that year in a 3-1 away win. Apart from that Soames has been either injured,in the reserves or on the bench. After making his first apperance of the season,he showed how determined and eager he was to return to the first team. With Michael Reddy doubtful for the next few games, we see no reason why Slade should revert to 4-4-2 and stick Parkinson and Gritton up front when he can leave Parkinson on the left, and bring in Soames in attack with Gritton.
