Crane was sent off 10 minutes into the second half for a punch on Daniel Nardiello. The sending off was Crane's second of the season, his first came against Oldham on Boxing Day, meaning an automatic four game ban is likely to come in place.

Caretaker manager Graham Rodger was far from happy with the defender and is also set to fine the player as punishement.

"Tony Crane is a good young player with some very rough edges and he needs to get rid of those very, very quickly," he told Mariners Net.
"It will cost him in the pocket and it will cost us a good player for three games. It was unacceptable."
