Defeat would have finished Town off

Phil Jevons' 80th minute penalty kept Town alive in the battle to avoid Division Three but Law is well aware what would have been Town's fate had Rushden left Blundell Park with three points.

"If we had lost, that could have been it," he told the Grimsby Telegraph.

"That would have left three games, and we would have needed to win all three.

"That would have been a tough, tough call, but with the win we have given ourselves a real chance."
