Hamilton's future at the club looked in doubt after yesterday's dissapearing act for the reserves.

Earlier thoughts that he was negotiating a pay-off now seem to be correct. With over a year left remaining on his contract, Hamilton will no doubt have received a healthy pay-off.

Signed on a free transfer from Cardiff in the summer, Hamilton arrived at Blundell Park with the billing of a complete midfielder. Sadly he was far from that.

Game after game he failed to impress and his final game, as a sub, against Bournemouth summed up his time at Town. Misplaced passes, mistimed tackles and general lethargic play were on display. Ironic cheers from the crowd for an interception also summed up the crowds feelings.

With Nicky Law recruiting Jamie Lawrence this week, Hamilton has moved even further down the pecking order. Chris Bolder also jumped ahead of him in the pecking order for the last two games.
