Flahavan: Press report is a load of rubbish!
The BBC and other websites, including Town fansites Electronic Fishcake and Jailhouse Rock both reported that Southend United keeper Daryl Flahavan had turned down a move to Grimsby in order to sign a new deal at Roots Hall.

Since then Town boss Russell Slade has told the official website that he has not even shown an intrest in the former Southampton understudy. Slade told www.gtfc.co.uk: "It is a load of rubbish and I haven't had any intrest"

Slade then went on to say that he is close to signing the new number 1 for next season, rumours circulating are now saying it is Oldham sub keeper Steve Mildenhall, the Scott Shearer rumour has disapperared, Kevin Pressman has been denied by the club and Alan Marriott has signed a new 3 year contract with Lincoln City.

Slade menitoned: "He is on holiday at the moment, but that should all being going through on the fax'" he said " He has experience and with John Lukic, that would be a relief to get that position sorted out"

Town have confirmed Nottingham Forest youngster John Lukic as the second choice keeper for next season, while youth team keeper Rob Murray is the stand by keeper at third choice.
