Youngster: Heggarty scored consolation goal!
Last time Town lost in any competition to Sheffield Wednesday it took a Gerald Sibon tap in to finish Town off in a highly competitive 1-0 win for The Owls at Hillsbrough during the 2000/2001 season. The two clubs drew in both fixtures the following season, and in the next two years, the two clubs drew twice and Town recorded two wins, which were both 2-0 victories at Blundell Park.

On tuesday evening the two faced each other for the first time since Tony Crane and Darren Mansaram finished The Owls off with ease two years ago oin the Division Two clash. This time out two second half strikes from Sheffield attackers Steven MacLean and Adam Proudlock finished the boys of, while Michael Reddy had several good chances for Town against his former team.

Sub Nick Heggarty came on for the last 10 minutes and pulled one back for the Town.

Goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall was still out injured, so Chester City trialist Wayne Brown remained between the sticks. Highly anticipated new signing Jean-Paul Kamudimba was not involved.
