Groves baffled by inconsistency

Groves had been hoping that the side could follow on from last week's emphatic 2-0 victory over Stoke, but instead they found themselves staring defeat in the face when they went two goals down after only 15 minutes and were three down and effectively out of the game at the interval.

"After last week's win against Stoke we are looking for a level of consistency but it was very disappointing today," said the Mariners player-boss.

"The game was certainly lost with us 3-0 down at half time, and it was always going to be difficult for us to claw it back.

"And the manner in which we conceded the goals is also a concern which we have to address and sort out very quickly."
