The two wins saw the Mariners get their season back on track and move up to 7th in the league table.

With confidence now restored to the team, Groves was also pleased to see the fans entertained in the Wycombe game.

"Great return of points for us, excellent weekend," Groves told Mariners Net. The people I'm most pleased for are the home supporters. It's been a good while since they've seen a victory like that. Obviously we started off with a disappointing result against Port Vale, so to get three points, score the goals, and hopefully we've entertained them."

With Marcel Cas and Darren Barnard getting their names on the scoresheet for the first time this season, Groves found time to praise their goals.

On Barnard's goal the boss said: "He's capable of doing that. He done it at other clubs he's been at and he's threatened to do it for us on a number of occasions - he's capable of doing that. It was a good quality goal, it gets our noses in front and just gives us an edge."

Groves also believes that the best is yet to come from Cas who put in another impressive performance down the right wing.

"He's got some pace, some power and I still feel there's more to come from Marcel yet," Groves continued. He can be more of a threat in terms of their goal. We need to do some more work with Marcel but that's only his second game out there," he said.
