Groves looking for first win

After a creditable draw at Plymouth and a disappointing defeat to Doncaster, nothing but a win will do for the Mariners and Groves who is aware of the importance of a good home record.

Groves has fired a warning to the Valiants that his team are more than capable of ripping them apart if they play to potential.

"We're looking to get off to a good start at home and get our first win under our belts," Groves told the Grimsby Telegraph.

"It's going to be tough because they had a good win last week against Bournemouth.

"They'll be looking to build on that and they won't be coming here to lie down.

"But I'm not concerned with them. I'm concerned with us.

"If we get it down and pass like we can then we can give anyone problems and create opportunities against anyone.

"Against Doncaster we were just starting to get it down and control the game when the incidents happened. We were causing problems and we need to do more of that."

Groves looks set to name an unchanged side despite much confusion amongst the fans over the positions of Jason Crowe and Marcel Cas.
