Speaking to the official site after the game, Groves said he was pleased with the performance which ended a run of two league defeats. Groves also praised the fans for their vocal support during the game.

"The players have kept going and I think we were the better on the ball today - we looked fairly comfortable," he told Mariners Net.
"The fans have been magnificent today, they've kept going from start to finish and they've kept going when there has been a bit of a lull in play."

Groves also spoke of the goals from his two strikers, both of whom ended personal barren spells.

Speaking about Onuora's goal, Groves said: "He's got himself in and around the box, he's had one or two chances - today it's come off for him. The ball in from Barney has picked him out, though the goalkeeper has probably made a bit of a mistake which has given Iffy the opportunity, but you've also got to be there to score them."

Boulding, who scored his first goal in over a month, got his goal as a result of link up play with Onuora. Groves noted this and his comments suggest that he wishes to keep the veteran at Blundell Park for a while longer.

"There was some good link up play on the half way line, and Michael's scored his goal because he's linked up with Iffy," he added. "Michael's nodded it down, Iffy's got hold of it for him, he's worked the ball and managed to slip Michael in. Michael's belted it home, I don't know if the keeper's seen it late?"
