Groves wants a Mooney

Mooney - Difference between the teams
Mooney was one of Groves' summer transfer targets, the former Watford man opted to move to the County Ground though whilst Groves failed to bring in a permanent front man.

Groves feels that Mooney was the difference betweens the two sides and looked on with envy as the 32-year-old scored the second half winner.

"His experience showed and he was always a threat," Groves told Mariners Net. "We wanted him in the summer and he's exactly what we are looking for. We need to try and secure a striker to do a job for ourselves."

Groves striker crisis looks like getting worse after Jonny Rowan caught his studs in the turf and was replaced by Liam Nimmo in the first half.

If Rowan fails to recover before Saturday, Groves will be left with just Nimmo and David Soames, both youth players, as the options to partner Michael Boulding.

Barton Town striker Bobby Lewsam has been handed a trial with the club and will play for the second string at Sheffield United on Wednesday.
