Onuora was always likely to sign for Town, with Blades boss Neil Warnock not seeing the veteran in his plans and Paul Groves having the cash to pay his wages.

The 36-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract keeping him at Blundell Park for the rest of the season, news which will delight Groves but possibly puzzle the fans. The majority opinion on Onuora is not good, which most unimpressed with the former Gillingham man.

Onuora's signing will come as a blow to Phil Jevons' chances of a first team game. 'Jevvo' has sat on the bench in recent weeks without making an apperance, despite 4 goals for the reserves in as many games.

Groves was also keen to keep Daws at Blundell Park for another week and had persuaded the board to fund part of his wages. However an agreement with Rotherham over wage sharing could not be reached.
