Oster: Signing on loan in 2002!
Mariners Legend John Oster has been linked with a return move to Grimsby following his release from Burnley. The Welsh International started his career of with Grimsby in 1995 and after 1 succesful year of first team football in the 96/97 season he was flogged to Everton for over a million pounds.

Oster returned twice on loan in the 2002/2003 season after being dropped by Sunderland. Oster played for 3 clubs last season having being loaned out to Leeds United while at Sunderland, and he finished up with a permanent move to Burnley.

Norweigan Town fan Jostein Jensen has reported on his website Jailhouse Rock that he is being linked with a return to Blundell Park. Russell Slade has mentioned that he will sign 4 more players to add to the squad( not including youth team step ups) a left back, a striker, and a creative midfielder(Oster?) and another player, who is believed to be Wayne Graves from Scunthorpe if he can impress while on trial this summer.

There has been no official word from Slade or the club, or even Oster about a return to Cleethorpes, but fingers crossed anyway!
