24-year-old Jones signed for the Hatters last March in a £5,000 deal from Gateshead.
During his time at Edgely Park he's managed just 17 starts, bringing a return of 2 goals. His strike rate with Gateshead is also impressive, with the big man a threat at set-pieces.
It is thought Jones is available on a free transfer from the Hatters with Slade keen to complete the deal.
