Gritts: Doubtful for Saturday!
Early indications show a sell out as local boys Scunthorpe United come to Town. Scunthorpe have had a fantastic season and have shocked the whole league with there promotion push.

Managed by former Grimsby under-achiever Brian Laws, The Iron have controlled the league for a lot of the season, and only being the third biggest side in the county they have made up for it by flirting with automatic promotion.

Martin Gritton and Stacy Coldicott look doubtful for the visit of Scunthorpe, so it could mean Frenchman Thomas Pinault may get a second chance after being unfairly slated by unpopular manager Russell Slade on radio last weekend. Scunny will be firing on all guns, and with the help of ex-Mariner Ian Baraclough they will hope to over through The Mariners for the first time at Blundell Park in a long while.

While this fixture cannot touch the climax of a Town vs Sheffield Wednesday or Barnsley game, it is a bonus this season that The Mariners can actually have a highly anticipated derby, even if we are not playing fancy opposition.

The ground by 3.00pm Saturday afternoon will be a very hostile place, with a lot of fans expected to vent there anger towards manager Slade, for his lacklustre tactics, managerial decisions and is infamous swipe at popular player Pinault.

GT MAD hope all SUFC supporters have a good day out, and travel safely, all fans are advised to take sensible precautions while in Grimsby. I.e Car decorations would be a silly idea once parked in the Town.

May The Best Team Win!
