Parky: 20 yard goal!
An impressive first half peformance from Grimsby was capped off by a fantastic 20 yard drive to give Town a 1-0 away win over local rivals Lincoln City at Sincil Bank.

Some fantastic defending, along with good passing and movement capped of Grimsby's first half, with Lincoln fielding there strongest line up from the start, it was odd that Town had so much of the ball against one of the leagues top teams for the title.

Michael Reddy, Jean-Paul Kamudimba, Paul Bolland, Tom Newey, Andy Parkinson and John McDermott were exeptionally good in the first period which saw only 2 chances for the hosts. Lincoln manager Keith Alexander decided to use 3 subs in the first half, while both teams went onto to use the rest of there availble squad and trialists in the second half.

In the last 20 minutes, Lincoln poored forward and Omari Coleman and Derek Asamoah both came closs against a very young looking Town side, Paul Ashton and Nick Heggarty both played well and ex-Leeds player Stuart Edwards and Barrow's Karl Colley, both on trial had a solid 30 minutes. New signing Gary Jones also got 20 minutes.
