Early reports suggested that the injury to Livingstone was not as bad as feared but it is now known that Livingstone has suffered a fracture to the base of his skull and will remain in Grimsby Hospital indefinitely.

The injury occured when Livingstone was involved in an aerial challenge with County's Danny Higginbotham.

He was give oxygen and immediately had a CAT scan when he arrived at Grimsby hospital.

Early reports that Steve Livingstone suffered no damage have, unfortunately, proved to be over optimistic, states the club's official website.
