Speaking to MarinersWorld, the clubs pay subscription service, Groves refused to give any details on the player. Instead stating that the player had agreed and terms had been finalised with the club.

"He's agreed to come and his club have agreed to let him go out on loan, Groves said."

"Because of the weather, he has had trouble getting here - hopefully he'll be here by Friday."

Rumours are already rife as to who the player is, former loanee and Preston midfielder Michael Keane is one name that is getting several mentions.

The Irish midfielder is however a regular in Craig Brown's Preston team this season.
