Ciaran Toner: New Arrival!
5 months after first speculation broke about Toner and Grimsby being linked, he has joined the club...well only on a trial basis. Toner formely of Tottenham Hotspur, Leyton Orient and Lincoln City has met up with the rest of the Town squad for the clubs week long Army Boot Camp training in Cambridgeshire.

Toner is told to be an exciting quick footballer with decent passing and shooting abillities, he even scored the third goal in Lincoln's 4-2 demolition of Grimsby last season at Blundell Park.

The permanent signing of Toner would require just one or two additions to midfield. Andy Parkinson looks set to be the main left winger this term, with Paul Bolland, and if succesful after his trial, Ciaran Toner in the centre. French midfielder Jean-Paul Kamudimba and Makhtar N'Diaye who may still sign for Grimsby are both capable of playing on the right.

Scunthorpe reject Terry Barwick is almost certainly not going to be a regular, as is youngster Nick Heggarty who despite beingf contracted has yet to recieve a squad number for next season. Not forgetting fellow midfield trialists Wayne Graves from Scunthortpe and Anthony Doherty from Bradford City.
