No Crowe appeal decision yet

The utility player was seen to stamp on Brian Stock after the Bournemouth midfielder's two footed lunge on Alan Pouton.

Groves has said that Crowe pleaeded his innocence and he would recieve his backing over the incident.

Television replays have shown that Crowe did stamp on Stock. Even though contact was minimul, the foot was raised and brought down. Referee Trevor Kettle, in probably his only correct decision, had no other option but to show the former Pompey man the red card.

Personally I feel any appeal would be a waste of time. Groves too may feel this after viewing the video evidence.

The 3 game ban for Crowe will hit Town hard though. After a stuttering start to his Town career, Crowe has excelled in his new midfield role. Only the return of Alan Pouton will cushion the blow. But with Darren Barnard also suspended for one game over the festive period, Crowe's versatility would have proved vital.
