Proudlock miss costly for Mariners

Grimsby were handed a golden chance to walk away with all three points when Shots midfielder Andy Sandell handled in the area with five minutes remaining, but Proudlock blazed the resulting spot-kick over the bar.

The visitors found themselves ahead as early as the sixth minute when Michael Coulson's right-wing cross caught Grant's flailing leg and bobbled into the far corner.

Grimsby looked the most likely to score again in the first half and Coulson volleyed in another cross only for debutant Tommy Wright to fluff his lines.

Hylton - who replaced Grant at half-time - caused havoc upon his arrival for the Shots and was rewarded with the equaliser in the 68th minute after combining with Louis Soares.
