Ramsden signs

The 22-year-old entered talks with manager Russell Slade yesterday and jumped at the chance of first team football after languishing Sunderland's reserves.

No new contract was on the table at the Stadium of Light for Ramsden so a move away from his native North East was unavoidable.

After passing his medical this morning, Ramsden signed a one-year deal with a view to a further year.

"I'm signing for a year with a years view and I'm delighted about it to be honest," he told Mariners Net.
"My contract was up with Sunderland and Grimsby had shown a lot of interest. I came down and I was really impressed with what I saw - I signed without hesitation,
"I've been really impressed with the gaffer. He doesn't want to be in this division, none of us do - we're looking to get out straight away."
