Jonny Now at Trinity!
Former Grimsby Town sensastion Jonny Rowan has signed for Lincolnshire Non-Leaguers Gainsborough Trinity. Rowan is currently contracted to Kettering Town but is on loan to The Blues for the rest of the season.

The reason for Rowan leaving is as he still lives in Grimsby, he can no longer travel to Kettering as former Mariners keeper Steve Croudson(who he used to hitch a lift with) has joined Halifax Town.

Jonny started his career of with Town in the 2000/2001 season. On his debut he came of the bench to score with his first touch in the League Cup against Wolves. The following year Rowan along with Phil Jevons were at first the favoured first choice attack, however with lots of injuries blocking his path, Rowan never re-found his first team spot or form when he returned and was pushed back for the next 2 and a half years by virtually any other striker in the club.

Rowan nearly signed left on loan last season but opted to carry on at

Grimsby despite scoring only once, and rarely featuring. Rowan was released at the end of the 2003/2004 season and in total appeared 59 times for Grimsby and scoring 8 goals in that period.

Rowan joined York City in pre-season on trial but failed to earn a contract. His next stop was Kidderminster Harriers where he spent a short while there on a non-contract basis.

He joined fellow ex-Mariner Stevey Croudson at Kettering Town just after the start of the season and enjoyed regular football with the Conference North title challengers. It seems five minutes since Rowan led the attack with Jevons away at Anfield in the 2-1 away cup win, now he will only have to look forward to the roar of 300 some fans on The Northolme.
