Having seen of the physical threat of Mansfield, with goals from Thomas Pinault and Jason Crowe, Slade has warned that more teams will want to boss the Mariners about.

"We didn't play as well as I would have liked but Mansfield came here to stop us playing. Fortunately we were mentally strong enough and we deservedly got the second goal which sewed it up at the end," Slade said after the game.

"A lot of games will be a battle. They are going to be difficult in this league and this was no different. They came and changed their game plan to deal with us, looking to get a result. Fortunately they didn't get one."
