EX Nottingham Forest and Tranmere Rovers striker Gary Jones became the 11th player to sign for Grimsby this summer. Jones will compete for a place in the regular line up against Michael Reddy and Martin Gritton. It was no shock that the former Tranmere hero signed for Town as Slade was looking for a suitable striker to sit in front of youngsters Gary Cohen and Jermaine Palmer in the striker pecking order.
