Slade slams Town display

Speaking to the official site, Slade slammed the defence, midfield and attack in his post-match comments.

"It was exceptionally woeful defending. We need to work all week in both boxes, attacking 500 corners at one end and defending 500 corners at the other end," he said.

"We had three or four golden opportunities in the second half but it's been the same all season, we are not ruthless enough and this was no exception.

"We tend to overplay and want to walk the ball into the net. After the lashing they've just had in the dressing room I don't think they'll feel so clever now.

"I shouldn't think the board will allow me to ship in five defenders, but I think that we are going to have to work exceptionally hard, hopefully we can bring in a new face or two. Hopefully Jones makes a quicker recovery than we think.

I'm hoping he is going to train next week - he'll brighten one or two of them up - he'll start kicking a few and he'll start winning a few headers.

"I didn't think that we particularly performed well in midfield today. I think that the midfield has been a strength of ours this season. Fleming and Pinault haven't been at their best today.

"I couldn't pick anybody out for credit in the second half."
