Slade wants to build

With the last away win coming 10 months ago, a 3-1 defeat of Brentford, the relief on Town's players was clear to see.

Now Slade is hoping that the win will be used a building block for better things this season.

"Obviously the form away from home wasn't the best before I arrived, so to get a result today is delightful and sets us up for Friday," he told MarinersNet.
"We want to use it as a platform. We wanted to use the mid week game against Charlton as a platform to build on - we've done that today. It sets us up for Friday now."

Slade also held special praise for Terrell Forbes after his strong performance in defence.

"I thought that he was the master at the back. Anything behind or down the side he runs out of play and he reads it exceptionally well. I'm delighted with his performance and the rest of the back three."
