Crowe played with the American at Portsmouth and could have joined Swindon in the summer, instead opting for a move North to join the Mariners.

Stefani Miglioranzi
25-year-old Miglioranzi (pictured) admitted that he was suprised Portsmouth allowed Crowe to leave, having seen the former Arsenal man in full flow. The midfielder also stressed that he is confident the Robins can get a result from the stuttering Mariners.

“He’s a player who likes to attack down the flank but he’s also dangerous when he cuts in on his left foot and curls the ball goalwards," Miglioranzi said.

“I saw him score goals like that on more than one occasion for Portsmouth and I’m surprised they let him go to be honest. He’s a very good player.

“Grimsby had a bad result in their last match and its important we don’t give them any reason to feel encouraged.

“I think we can go to their place feeling very positive.”

Crowe, however, may not even find himself in the starting eleven. John McDermott is ready for selection again after getting some training under his belt. Crowe may find himself in a more attacking role as manager Paul Groves looks to reshape his team.
