The Outlook!

Will Grimsby have a squad ready for the start of the new campaign? Who knows, areas of the field are now fully covered, but there are still plenty of wholes, and with the squad so thin, injuries and suspensions could hit the clubwhere it hurts this season. It has already been said that Terry Barwick wouldn't make great cover for the regular 4 in midfield, and with Slade still chasing strikers it could mean he has no faith in new signings Gary Cohen and Jermaine Palmer, the young attackers are 3rd and 4th ranked strikers behind Michael Reddy and Martin Gritton.

The defence looks complete, however Karl Colley a trialist from Barrow has recently impressed in 4 friendly games against Bridlingto, Rotherham, Leeds and Doncaster which could mean a short term deal, Oxford's well known centre back Leo Roget was added to the line up for the friendly at Doncaster, but is unlikely to get a contract, despite a fairly decent game, and even earning a mention of praise on the Doncaster MAD website. The midfield is very thin, with Lee Fowler, Sam Aiston and Gareth Whalley all falling through the bag it leaves the club with only 7 senior midfielders, and 5 with squad numbers, after Nick Heggarty and Paul Ashton was snubbed one.
