Town snap up US winger

The South African born midfielder was granted a free transfer from the 3rd Division side this morning after talks with Town boss Nicky Law.

Thorrington started his career with Manchester United and then German outfit Bayer Leverkusen, failing to make a first team appearance with either.

His big break came after his move to Huddersfield in the summer of 2001. In Division Two he proved a massive threat down the right wing and was part of the team that only just missed out on promotion via the play-offs.

The following season the Terriers were relegated and Thorrington has failed to make a serious impression on returning boss Peter Jackson.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and was told he is free to leave if he could find a club.

Best used on the right wing, his pace can be devestating although like so many wingers his day doesn't come often enough. Nicky Law will clearly fancy his chances of getting the best out of Thorrington.
