Town To Rest Players For Morecambe Game!

The Mariners are expected to rest the majority of there regular line up, in order to give the rest of the squad a pop at first team football. Russell Slade has already commented that he intends to bring in Tony Crane and Simon Ramsden at centre back, resting Rob Jones and Justin Whittle.

Glen Downey, Tommy Taylor, Martin Gritton, Paul Ashton, Nick Heggarty, Terry Barwick, Danny North and trialist Steven Slade could all be called up for the visit of Conference outit Morecambe in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy.

30 year old striker Slade, has returned to England following a 4 year spell in Iceland. Before hand he started his career of in 1994 with Tottenham Hotspur, and also played football with Queens Park Rangers, Brentford, Cambridge United and Hayes before moving into Icelandic football. Slade has been given permission to play in tonight's game despite only being a trialist.

It is probably likely that Rob Jones, Jean-Paul Kamudimba Kalala, Michael Reddy, Paul Bolland and Andy Parkinson are rested, while Gary Croft is still injured.
