Wheeler joined the first team at the start of last season and never made an apperance. He also was given a trial by Scarborough last season and thats while Slade was in charge there, it seems weird why he would chuck away a player he was keen on last season.
However the release of Kirk will certainly excite the managers of Barrow and other local non league sides with intrest in Towns neglected youth. Brigg Town,Gainsborough Trinity,Louth United,North Ferriby United and so forth I am sure will be intrested to know of his release.
