Menno In Action 4 Years Ago!
Menno Willems is reportedly relishing the idea of returning to Grimsby in the summer according to one of the 8 trialists who happens to be a good friend of his. Sven Baas a trialist from Volendaam has told Mariners World that Menno would love to come back to Grimsby.

Willems signed for Town from Vitesse Arnhem initially on loan in the 2000/2001 season. After an impressive 3 months Willems was bought for £250,000 by Lennie Lawrence and continued playing for the club until the end of the 2001/2002 season. With Willems the highest earner at the club, he was released and returned to the Netherlands.

Willems joined Haarlem FC and dropped down out of the Dutch top flight into the second division. He stayed with Haarlem up until last summer when he signed for fellow second division side Sparta Rotterdam.

Baas and Menno both played together at Haarlem before both going there seperate ways last summer.
