Woods aiming for Mariners to rise

By Team Talk
Monday, 15th March 2010
The Mariners manager, already without Jamie Devitt, Olly Lancashire, Dean Sinclair and Peter Sweeney against Morecambe on Saturday, lost captain Lee Peacock to injury during the 1-1 draw at Christie Park.

However, the experienced forward, along with several other players, is expected to be back in contention to face the Cherries at the weekend.

"Lee got a very bad dead leg. Sometimes you can run it off but on that pitch it was just getting worse and worse," said Woods. "It was a blow to lose your captain and big man in the middle of the park but full credit to Mark Hudson - he did very well.

"I would think they will all be back from injury for next Saturday. Dean Sinclair, Oliver Lancashire and Peter Sweeney should be okay.

"Paris Cowan-Hall should also be coming back from Portsmouth this week and Jamie Devitt could be back training at the end of the week. So we should definitely have three or four back in contention."
