Woods felt Mariners should have won

A penalty shootout loss to the old enemy at Glanford Park saw them crowned champions of Lincolnshire, but after a sluggish start the Mariners side had gone on to show they were a class above after the restart.

"I was disappointed in the end that we didn't turn the second-half performance into more goals," said Woods.

"I though the first-half was very poor. We started badly, gave a very poor goal away, had the strength of character to come back but never really got to grips with the way Scunthorpe were playing.

"You have to put it in perspective, it's Scunthorpe's B team, a reserve side, so it's concerning the way we started. We had some experienced players out there so I'd have liked them to have solved the problems a little bit quicker.

"Second-half we were in total control of the game and it was just whether we were going to score."
