Gio:Keep On Looking!
Giovanni Carchedi, the young striker released by the club a few weeks back is not expected to sign a contract with York City despite playing regular reserve football and scoring the odd few.

Carchedi who signed for the youths back in 2000 only signed professionally at the start of last season. However Gio only made the first team in friendlies and never made the subs bench in league games or in cup games.

The English/Italian player was told to be promissing, as was Ashley Hildred and Kirk Wheeler. However all 3 were released in the past month.
Former Gaffer:Groves ageing there!

If Gio signed for York it would of made him the 4th former Mariner in the Minstermen squad. Former Player-Manager Paul Groves is a Player-Coach for the club. Top scorer in the record breaking 97/98 season a certain Mr Kevin Donovan is also at Bootham Crescent. And also the third member of the legendary 97/98 squad is striker Lee Nogan who has been at York for the past few seasons and is currently the Player-Assistant Manager. They also this season had former Mariners goalkeeper Paul Crichton in goal for 4 games before he moved to Accrington Stanley.
